What’s the difference between Flow and Flow Marketplace?

Whilst Flow and Flow Marketplace are both freelance platforms, the process for hiring and becoming a freelancer for each one differs. Flow is a consultancy service, made up of vetted experts. Freelancers apply to become a Flow expert, then a member of our team verifies their credentials and then matches them with a client with whom their skills and experience fit best. Flow Marketplace allows anyone to become a freelancer (as long as they pass the identification check), and the process is facilitated by the company.

What are queues and how do they work?

If a freelancer receives a lot of orders, or wants to limit the number of orders they can receive, they can implement a queue. This indicates to the buyer how many clients are in the virtual queue before they are, giving an indication of how long they may be waiting to work with this particular seller.

Do I have to be from the UK to use Flow Marketplace?

No. Whilst we are a UK based company, we welcome users from all over the world. When creating your profile and posting services/jobs, there will be a section that allows you to set your location. You aren’t restricted to freelancers/buyers within your location for the majority of projects, but in the instance you do require someone within close proximity, this will show you which country and city the user is located.

Can I work with more than one freelancer?

Yes – you can work with multiple freelancers simultaneously if you want to. You can keep track of each individual project in the ‘Manage Projects’ area of your profile.

How do I keep track of projects?

Both companies and experts can keep track of their projects via a dedicated section of their user dashboard. If you’re an expert, head to the ‘Manage Projects’ section of your dashboard – for companies this will instead be called ‘Manage Jobs’. Here you will see a list of projects in progress, as well as completed and cancelled projects. For completed jobs you can view project history, which includes any correspondence you’ve had with the buyer.

What kind of freelancers can I hire?

Flow Marketplace is designed for digital marketing, ecommerce and website development experts. This means you can purchase a range of different services including SEO, copywriting, PPC, website design, graphic design, email marketing and more.

Are all freelance jobs on Flow Marketplace remote?

This is up to the buyer. When creating a new job to advertise on Flow Marketplace, you can select whether you would like the job to be completed remotely or on-site. When browsing available jobs, freelancers will be able to view this information before deciding whether to submit a proposal or not.

Safety & security

Why am I being asked for verification documents?

We endeavour to keep our users safe and take measures to prevent fraud taking place on the Flow Marketplace platform. Whilst we understand that you want to get started ASAP, identity checks are necessary to ensure that Flow Marketplace remains an honest and safe space for both buyers and sellers. This is why you are asked to submit one official government identity document.

How long does the identity verification process take?

We endeavour to complete all identity verification checks within 24 hours. You will receive an email once your check is complete.

Is my sensitive information safe?

Yes. We know that entering personal information such as bank details can be scary, but we’ve taken all of the necessary steps to secure our website and we never share this data with any third parties.

How do I change/reset my password?

To reset your Flow Marketplace password, hover your mouse over your name and profile photo in the top right hand corner of the screen. Then head to Settings > Account Settings > Password. Here you can enter your new password before hitting the ‘Change Password’ button.

Are Flow Marketplace freelancers vetted?

No. As long as a freelancer passes the identity verification, they are otherwise free to use the Flow Marketplace as either a buyer or a seller.

Payments & pricing

How much can I charge for my services?

You can charge from £5 and upwards for any given service.

Will Flow Marketplace deduct fees?

20% of the total payment value will be deducted by Flow Marketplace before funds are released to the seller. When a freelancer sets a price, they will be shown how much will be deducted and the amount they will be paid before proceeding.

I’ve completed a project – when will I receive my payment?

Funds are taken from the buyer during the purchase process. These funds will be released to the seller once the project has reached completion.

How do I withdraw funds?

Withdrawing funds from your Flow Marketplace account is simple. Head to your dashboard and you’ll see your available balance. Beneath your balance amount is a button labelled “Withdraw Now” – click on this then choose a payment gateway and the amount you would like to withdraw. Check these details are correct before clicking “Withdraw Money”. Your funds will then be sent to your account.

Is there a limit to how much I can withdraw?

The minimum amount you can withdraw at a time is £500.

Can I use PayPal?

Yes – you can withdraw funds to your bank account using PayPal. Simply select the PayPal option from the drop down when prompted to choose a payment gateway during the withdrawal process.

How much does it cost to hire a freelancer through Flow Marketplace?

This depends on the freelancer and job in question. Freelancers are free to set their own prices – it’s up to the buyer to decide whether they are willing to pay this price or whether they should look elsewhere. You can however make an offer to a freelancer – if they choose to accept your offer then you will pay the agreed price.

Do I have to pay to join Flow Marketplace?

Creating a Flow Marketplace account is completely free. The only time you will be required to make a payment is when purchasing a service. A fee will be taken by Flow Marketplace each time you purchase a service from a freelancer.

How can I keep track of payments?

You’ll find a section for invoices in your Flow Marketplace dashboard – click on this to view all invoices, for past and ongoing projects. Once an order is placed, an invoice will automatically be created.

Conflict & disputes

How do I report a freelancer or company?

If you feel that you need to report either a freelancer or a buyer, you can do so by using the ‘Report’ button on their profile. You can also report a specific service or project in the same way. A member of our team will then review your complaint and take the necessary actions accordingly.

What if I’m not happy with the freelancer/company I’m working with?

If the freelancer you’ve been working with hasn’t met the agreed terms, for example has not met the deadline or the quality of their work does not meet expectations, you can create a dispute. To do this, go to your dashboard and click on the ‘Disputes’ button, then ‘Create Dispute’. You then choose the project the dispute is in relation to and select one of the reasons from the drop down menu. You can raise a dispute in the event that a payment has not been released after project completion, an employer cancels the project, the freelancer has not responded once a project is in progress or the freelancer did not meet expectations.

Another user has raised a dispute against me – what do I do?

In the event that another user raises a dispute, the Flow Marketplace team will review and take any necessary action. We will keep both parties informed so please await our response before taking any further action.
